Osteopathy Treatments For Children & Babies

Children grow and change quickly, and sometimes their bodies may appreciate a little extra support. Osteopathic care for babies and children is gentle, subtle and adapted specifically to their stage of development.

Parents often bring their little ones to us for general musculoskeletal comfort, to help ease areas of tension or simply for a calm and soothing check-in as they grow. Our approach focuses on creating a relaxed environment where your baby or child can feel safe, supported and cared for.

We take our time, work softly and always follow your child’s pace. Whether it’s during early milestones, school years or periods of rapid growth, we’re here to help promote ease and wellbeing as they develop.

Caring for little ones is a privilege, and we understand how important it is for parents to feel informed, comfortable and supported.

Every child is unique, and we take great care to honour that individuality. Our approach is always sensitive, respectful and led by your child’s comfort. Whether they need to feed, cuddle, nap or explore during the session - that’s absolutely fine.

Our aim is to create a welcoming space where parents feel supported, and your little one feels safe and relaxed.

What To Expect

Your First Appointment: Initial Consultation, Case History and Treatment

Your first visit gives us plenty of time to get to know you and your child. We begin with a warm welcome and an open conversation, so you can share anything you feel is important — from pregnancy and birth history to how your baby or child has been developing, feeding, playing, moving or settling in general life.

We will observe your child’s general movement, comfort and posture in a relaxed, friendly way. Babies may be assessed while being held by you, lying on the couch or even while feeding — whatever helps them feel at ease.

If appropriate, we may begin using gentle osteopathic techniques to ease areas of tension and support comfortable movement. Everything is done slowly and sensitively, always guided by how your child responds.

You are encouraged to ask anything — no question is too small. We’ll explain what we’re noticing, how osteopathy may help support your child’s comfort, and what you can expect going forward.

The initial consultation typically lasts a little longer so that no one feels rushed and your child can settle naturally.

What To Expect

Follow-Up Appointments

Follow-up sessions build on the foundation we created during your first visit. These appointments are usually shorter and focus on your child’s ongoing comfort, gentle treatment and any changes you’ve noticed since your last session.

We start by catching up with you about how your baby or child has been, any changes in comfort, movement or daily routines.

We continue with calm, hands -on techniques, always mindful of how your child is feeling on the day. Sessions may involve soft tissue work, gentle rhythmic movements or subtle balancing techniques to help ease tension and support healthy function.

We may offer simple advice on things like positioning, comforting or ways to support your child’s general musculoskeletal wellbeing at home - always practical and easy to implement.

Follow-up sessions are relaxed, responsive and designed to be a positive experience for both you and your child.
